What Have I Learnt From My Audience Feedback?
We approached this question in two different ways the first was a simple showing and used a survey questions to ask the audience what they thought this could help us elaborate on there answered but couldn't get a mass answers to get an average answer so we also made a survey monkey surveys to get mass information and posted it on our social media so our target audience could see our video and comment.
Screening Results
1.What age bracket/audience do you feel this music video is aimed at and why?
Most people said that they thought the target age was for 15 to 30 year olds and around - young adults. This was because of the mature content with violence, which is more familiar with an adult audience and has been compared to if it was rated to a movie what rating it would have. As well as having actors with in this age bracket.
2.What do you think the narrative is? and explain why you know this?
There were many interpretations of what the narrative in my music video meant. Because of it surrealist genre of dream pop it was hard to put you finger on the true meaning of the story but I found the many interpretations of mean interesting and in some cases even questioning my own text. Thou the message we wrote as more black and white using s simple binary opposition of nature and mans struggle. There were three main theories one fitted closes to our video but others didn't exactly fit. Here are answered from people e asked through Survey Monkey.
"Teenagers/young adults at a gathering/party. All is well until alas, a baddie arrives! Main guy gets kidnapped and tortured but we do not find out why...... With regards to the masks, it could be interpreted in a multitude of ways. The masks could be literal representations of the animals, maybe portraying a message against animal cruelty/hunting? Or perhaps the masks symbolise the different personalities of the various characters involved. Either way the kidnapper is mysterious due to the helmet. Taken literally it would be terrifying from an animal's perspective to be kidnapped, but from the viewpoint of a teen it would be scary to be taken away by a stranger"
"From first viewing it seems to be an internal struggle between youth and freedom versus the very rigid and structured society we have trapped ourselves in. The wolf masks on the dancing party-goers are reminiscent of nature and our connections with mankinds primitive roots. The fact is is located in a forest exemplifies the carefree atmosphere we all want to embrace, yet feel we can't due to the constraints of modern society. The men in army jackets could represent our montonous routine as an army is very disciplined and the fact that they kill the guy at the end amplifies the concept that we are all servants to society and cannot break free. This is something which resonates past the end and makes the video more powerful to the audience."
"Someone possibly killing another person and hiding the fact?"

3.What character do you relate to the most and why?
After looking at my feedback most have said that they relate with the Fox character more than any other animals this makes sense because he is the main protagonist and has the most screen time. He is also of the same age and style of most of the people we have questioned and surveyed. But some have also said the animals this is sometimes because of gender of physical of physical appearance such as hair colour but also because they're more of a bystanders within the story and people relate with them noise they are also viewers of the story like the audience.
4.What genre is the content of the music video directed towards?
With this question we should have been clearer because most people have answered with movie genres such as horror or thriller instead of music genres such as rock or electro. But from this we can see that the video is a heavy hitter and has a lasting impact to the audience like a thriller or psychological thriller.
5. What would you change about the music video to make it better/appropriate/more unique?
Most said that they would like to see a small pre story to the music video (such as Black widow) so they would bet a taste of whom the characters were and why they were there this could also shownwhynthey were being taken. I felt that this wasn't needed to fit to our genre and to keep it surreal - I like that you have to think abut it and many people have there own ideas instead of spoon feeding the audience.
people also wanted more shots at night to reinforce the dark nature and t make the stalking more like a traditional horror witch is something we wanted but problems with lighting and not having the right equipment to handle this we had to use the golden hour instead. |

6.From watching this music video would you go buy the record? if not why?
most said in the case of our music video they would buy the single but in most cases they wouldn't buy a song based on the music video. this could be because now there is less listening to music on theTV and more digitally downloading a song and listening to it on the go. this could mean the inference of my Digi-Pack is more important as a promotional tool that the music video its self.
7. Where would you expect to see the music video and track advertised?
most though that this was most likely to be seen on social media such as Facebook and YouTube adverts because it wasn't mainstream music and there for wouldn't be seen on things like MTV or on radio.
(DONE AS A PERCENTAGE OF PEOPLE ASKED)
8. If you were to give the music video a age certification like films what would you give it?most said tis was because of the gore and violence - questionable content of drinking and kidnapping. but under BBFC guidelines this would probably be a 15 which is where our average lays.

9. What would you rate the music video 10 being the best and 1 being the worst? |
